Determining the nature of the dark matter remains an outstanding problem in fundamental physics. In this talk, I will describe a simple and predictive framework in which the dark matter consists of several particles that are stabilized by a single Z_N symmetry. After outlining the general features of these scenarios, their phenomenological implications will be illustrated within specific models.
