OVERVIEW

In the last few years there has been a considerable growth of interest in various research areas at the border between Theoretical Physics of Disordered Systems and Probability, explicitly or indirectly related to multifractality and random geometry. In part, this has been caused by a confluence of ideas from such disparate fields as the random matrix theory, quantum mesoscopic physics, spin glass theory, theory of branching random processes, random networks and Liouville Quantum Gravity, with applications ranging from Number Theory to Turbulence, Financial Mathematics, and Anderson localization.

A particular focus will be put on multifractality and random geometries. Subjects to be discussed during the Program include (but not limited to)

  • Logarithmically correlated random fields and processes;
  • Anderson localization and multifractality;
  • Random geometry in two dimensions, conformal invariance, and quantum gravity.

The Program will bring together researchers from condensed matter physics, statistical mechanics and mathematical physics communities with a purpose to build new cross-discipline collaborations.
